The Black Widow Society or BWS is a secret society founded at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, AL.
Its founding date is unknown as well as its list of members, who are known as "Black Widows."
It is rumored that there are 5 members out of each level (1L, 2L and 3L), bringing total membership to only 15.
Although the group is small, it holds great power.
Some sources claim that there is a representative of the society in every student organization on campus.
The meeting place is unknown becasue of the secrecy of the club. rumor has it that they meet in a different place every month so that the members identification will not be revealed.
Name Sake
The name sake of the society is perhaps their best kept secret.
No one but the members actually know what the meaning is.
Membership Selection
Membership is done by a tapping during the students first month at the law school and at the end of the first semester, the candidate is initiated into the society.
Nobody knows how the new recruits are informed of their selection or the initiation process.
Lore
None of the members have ever been publicly identified nor do the faculty or student body know the identity of any Black Widow.
The secrecy around the organization has led to wide speculation and theories.
The society is said to have connections into every aspect of the Jones School of Law's advocacy programs from the Student Bar Association to the Honor Court.
