The black hole glitch is a very complicated glitch in the Nintendo Gamecube title Super Smash Brothers Melee that involves 4 human players set on specific teams and in specific locations on the hyrule temple map.

Step one: Setting up the players and items

In order to successfully do the black hole glitch, you must be on stock team melee, with players one and three on one team, player four on another team, and player two on a seperate team. Players two and three MUST be Fox and Falco, becuase they have to use their Down B move (Reflector) to get the glitch in motion. Player one can be whatever character they choose, and player four must be Peach. Then, go into the Item Switch menu and make sure that all items but the Super Scope are turned off, and set the frequency to Medium or lower, so as not to crowd the screen with items. Then, select the Hyrule Temple map.

Step Two: The Infinite Super Scope Glitch

Now, have player one grab a Super Scope, and fire off five normal shots (a normal shot is a quick tap of the A button that shoots three bullets), then, have them fire off two fully charged shots. Then, have someone from an opposing team stand directly behind them, and have player one fire another fully charged shot, but right before it fires, have the opposing player that is right behind player one hit the A button to attack them mid-charge. If done successfully, then repeatedly hitting the A button should not drain the Super Scope ammo.

Step Three: Getting into position

In order to start the glitch, you must get the characters in the right spots. First, have Fox stand on either the left or right ledge, and Falco on the other one, but make sure that they are just barely on (check for their on the edge animation). Now, have the player that is on the same team as the person on the left ledge get right behind them (should be the one with the ininfte Super Scope). Finally, have Peach stand in the ditch between the two platforms.<!-- Image with unknown copyright status removed:

Step Four: Black Hole

Now, have the person on the right ledge hold Down B (Reflector), and have player one continuously fire off many normal shots (just mash the A button) and as soon as one shot hits their Reflector, have the other person pull up theirs, and do not let go of the Reflectors at all. Then, have Peach continously jump into the line of fire, until eventually, the green spheres that pop up merge into a complete line. At this point, take caution, as your game may lock up and you'll have to start again, but if it doesn't have player one stop shooting, and have Peach throw exactly 19 turnips straight up into the middle of the line of fire, after all 19 have been thrown, have player one nudge their teammate off the edge, which will stop their reflector, then have the other player stop theirs, and if done correctly, the turnips should spin violently in that one spot, thus creating the infamous black hole glitch.
This the about when you should nudge your teammate off.

This is a successful black hole.

Note: jumping in the black hole will automaticlly jump your damage counter up to 999%, with the only way to get out being to hit the jump button repeatedly, which results in your character dying. Also, using Fox's and Falco's Reflectors when they are about to hit the black hole, will stop them from getting hit by it, since the turnips are enemy projectiles.
