Blizzhackers
is an online community located at Blizzhackers.com that supports hacking for Blizzard Entertainment's games. Created in 2001, this site provided simple hacks such as the TPPK program which altered gameplay in the content of dueling and player killing, although there has been some controversy as to whether this was good or bad. The site was started by Nuttzy99, who also created the spell checking tool (and eponymous website) SpellingCow.

History

Past

During its past 4 year run, Nuttzy99 handed over the site to co-administrator d-ArkAngel.
In 2005, it hosted emulated World of Warcraft servers and Blizzard filed legal action against d-ArkAngel, who ended up having to sign over the site domain name to Blizzard Entertainment for copyright infringement and disruption of business.
This resulted in the site being taken down for roughly 6 months. As of now the site has come back under the name of Nowhere", where it continues to support modification of Blizzard's games, excluding server emulation.

Present

As of now, the site is in its 5th year, and supports game modification for World of Warcraft and Diablo 2, as well as numerous other games.
In addition, it has provided for its userbase various generalized forums for the discussion of technical issues, programming, and general life.
Blizzhackers (Edge of Nowhere) is more than just a hacking forum.
It is a giant community of people that help eachother with everything, from food recipes to relationship help. It's userbase is a tight spun web of people that have been around for so long that they almost know each other.

Media

Over the period of its existence, Blizzhackers has been host to many of Diablo II's most popular bots, which are programs written to automate player tasks within the game.
Botting was most prevalent during the v1.09 and v1.10 eras of Diablo II on Battle.net, and forced Blizzard to retaliate with strong anti-botting measures in the v1.11 patch. In late 2002, Syadasti, a member of Blizzhackers, appeared on TechTV's The Screen Savers to demonstrate his bot, the first Mephbot ever created. <ref>Gogulski, Mike (Dec. 20, 2002). On Slashdot, CmdrTaco references Edge of Nowhere (aka Blizzhackers) concerning a duping exploit on World of Warcraft.
