Blogs for Bush was originally an online Blogroll dedicated to the blogs of people who support George W. Bush. It was founded by Matt Margolis in November, 2003, with the original purpose of covering the 2004 Elections. According to its founders, it became one of the most popular blogs during the election. The blog has since decreased in readership, possibly because of political burnout since the election, or alternatively because of George W. Bush's low approval ratings.

The current contributors to Blogs for Bush are difficult to gauge in intent. They are fiecely partisan Republicans, but also stereotypically so; in the vein of Stephen Colbert, they often portray Republican party allegiance in the worst possible light. Blogs for Bush is a commercial enterprise, in addition to the rest of the Margolis' websites, so the reader is tempted to believe that the intention of the extremism presented on the website is to promote web traffic. Nonetheless, the comment section - where the contributors often respond - tends to prove that the posters are indeed sincere.

The Blogs for Bush comments section is frequented by a few main characters who enjoy insulting each other and arguing in non-compromising terms. While enjoyable for the regulars, this fact has alienated many would-be contributors, and influenced the blog's decreased popularity.

Posts on the blog rarely contain any factual information, choosing instead to cite a news story of the day and then proceed to attack the author with ad-hominem insults. Any poster who disagrees with the party-line on the blog is mercilessly excoriated in a fashion that would embarrass a second-grader. In short, the blog is hate site, designed to rouse the latent anger in otherwise lazy individuals who would otherwise not pay attention to politics. Scapegoat tactics used on the blog are reminiscent of those used by all totalitarian regimes, including the Nazis and Soviets.

Fittingly, Blogs for Bush was one of the first blogs to receive media credentials to cover the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden in New York City, as well as media credentials for the 55th Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2005.
