Bloody Disgusting is a website that covers horror movies with reviews, interviews and news. It is currently run by Brad Miska and Tom Owen. The former goes by the pseudonym Mr. Disgusting. The site allegedly has 1 million unique visitors and 20 million page views each month.[1] It is widely considered to be the "world's most popular horror website".[2][3] In 2007, it was purchased by The Collective, a Beverly Hills based management company.[4] According to Variety, it will be a source of new talent for the company.

Formed in 2002,[5] Bloody Disgusting was one of the first online challengers to horror mainstays like Fangoria magazine. It also presents the horror convention Horror Hound.[6] Recently, it has seen some significant competition from Comcast and Sony's Fearnet.[7] But unlike competitors such as Fearnet or Fangoria, Bloody-Disgusting is largely "independent" with Miska and Owen maintaining editorial control.[8] Accordingly, Sci Fi chose it as their site of the week in August 2007.[9]
Bloody Disgusting is regularly quoted in movie trailers and advertisements for films like 30 Days of Night[10] or Feast.[11] Miska also makes media appearances as a "horror expert".[12]
Bloody Disgusting has been accused by Horrormoviefans.com and other websites of biased journalism. One of the reasons listed as proof of this accusation is the fact that a horror movie production company (Platinum Dunes) is hosted on Bloody Disgusting's site. [13] There has even been discussion of the relationship between Platinum Dunes and Bloody Disgusting in Bloody Disgusting's own forums. [14] However Bloody Disgusting has defended its relationship with Platinum Dunes saying in part "...we will critique his [Brad Fuller] films regardless of our friendships with his company...". [15]
