Robert Taylor, III (born December 28, 1973 in Houston, Texas) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Seattle Seahawks.

Early life

Taylor attended and played high school football at Longview High School at Longview, Texas, and was also a member of the 1992 5A Texas State Basketball Championship team.

College career

Taylor played college football at the University of Notre Dame where he was selected as a consensus All-American in 1994.

Professional career

Philadelphia Eagles

Taylor was drafted in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Eagles until the 2003 season and went to one Pro Bowl.

Seattle Seahawks

After playing for the Eagles, Taylor played for the Seattle Seahawks for one season. He retired from the NFL after being released by the Seattle Seahawks in their 2005 training camp.

Personal

Taylor's father, Robert Taylor, won a gold medal and a silver medal in the 1972 Summer Olympics while attending Texas Southern University in Houston.
