== History of the Band ==
The Bodacious Banana Extravaganza
started back in earlier 2005 when the 3 members collaborated on
possibly creating a "Super Band". Kevin played guitar in a band
called the Mulchtoads at the time, and their style was similar to
that of the BBE. Andy came from a heavy metal band by the name of
Frantic, which is currently inactive due to way too many creative
differences. Finally, Ryan came from a band called the Lavender
Fudge Connection, which was a cover band that played classic rock
songs.
Eventually, in June 2006, the three guys jammed for the
first time, and ended up writing some of their first tunes. These
tunes were La Banana, a song that was a poem the trio wrote backed
up by Ryan's alto sax, and Andy's bongos, Raccoon, a funk song
based around a drum beat Andy came up with, Gomez the Gorilla
Trainer, a softer rock-ish tune about a Gorilla Trainer and his
gorilla friend Magical Ping-Pong Pool Cue, and Ethan Fromage, an
instrumental song loosely addapted from the book "
Ethan Frome" by
Edith Wharton.
As they
contiuned to play and write together, they managed to create a
large catalogue of music. With all of these tunes, they decided to
start playing some shows, and they started to look for
opportnities. They ended up playing a semi-large festival held by
the local Catholic Church in their home town called the Feast of
St. Rocco. They drew in a rather large crowd, and got a lot of
publicity.
Currently, the Bodacious Banana Extravaganza is
working with Sound in the Hall Records to record their first album
"Foam Cow". The Album is set to contain 11 original tracks, and has
a tentative release date of November 2006. More news of the album
is to come from the band soon.
