Bodington is an open-source virtual learning or research environment software project.
It was originally created at the University of Leeds by Jon Maber and Andrew Booth.
Bodington is written in Java, and used as a VLE by three educational institutions including Oxford University and UHI.
It is named after Sir Nathan Bodington, the first Vice Chancellor of the University of Leeds (1904 - 1910).
Leeds University has recently contracted Blackboard to provide a replacement VLE from 2007 onwards.
