THE MISC is a forum section of the popular website, Bodybuilding.com.
Its existence has become very popular with many members advertising The Misc on other web forums and sites.
It is often the target, because of its notoriety, by other sites claiming it is sexist, racist and promotes steroid use in which it even provides instructions on how to make your own steroids.

There is often a debate between users in how 'Misc' is pronounced. One party suggests the correct pronunciation is with the 'C' being used in speech. The other party suggests that the 'C' is silent and that MISC is pronounced MISS. The later is correct as MISC is an abbreviated term of MISCELLANEOUS.

The forum, as well as all the forums on the website, use a Reputation-system. Users can either choose to 'Neg' (Bad Feedback) or 'Rep' (Good Feedback) each other. Reasons behind Reps and Negs are often due to good or bad advice, content of user posts or attitude to other users. A member's reputation level affects how much they can rep or neg another user. For example, a member with high-rep points will lower or raise another member's rep points more then a member with low rep points would.

MISC CONTENT

The content of The Misc varies but there are often regular occurrences of similar topics. Bodybuilding and sports-related topics are not discussed that often as there are other forum sections for such topics. Frequent content topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

Pornography: Users often post information on or links to pornography. They also exchange private messages with other users containing pornographic movies and/or pictures.

Jailbait: Pictures and/or videos of underage girls are posted. The content of these posts often contain the girls wearing raunchy or sexy clothing. Many members get accused of pedophilia, however the pictures and videos are normally deemed safe and do not break the law.

Relationships and Sexual Experiences: Members describe their relationships or sexual experiences. Most of the time, pictures will be provided.

General Advice or Topics: Members post topics discussing or asking for advice ranging everything from automobile advice to nutrition, from what members are currently doing at present to family issues.

Polls: Polls are voting systems used by members to determine the answer to a thread question. These normally relate to topics discussing sex or the looks of females. Examples poll questions are Would You Hit This? (Would You Have Sex With This?) and What would you rate this girl? (Usually constitutes a level of 1-10 with 10 meaning the girl is very beautiful).

World News: Members discuss topics about international issues and affairs.

Tributes: Tributes to famous people, models, pornstars and more.

MISC LANGUAGE

Many terms, slang words, abbreviated words and words created by misc members have become a regular part of the Misc Forums. Below are some of the regular term used:

Reps (Reputation): Positive Points given to a member by another.

Negs (Negative Reputation): Negative Points given to a member.

Cliffs: Key/Important points of a long story.

Noods (Nudes): Nude pictures or videos. Often term is 'Noods or Negs' relating to a member demanding nude pictures or they will neg.

"I'm Calling You Out": A term used when one member has an unresolved issue or matter to address about another member.

"Dat Dere Cell-Tech": A term used to describe a reason behind superior strength. Often used as a joke, in reference to the reputation of a sports supplement know as Cell-Tech.

Fail: Word used by members when another member's thread or attempt to impress does not go as planned.

PIITB (Poke It In The Butt): Probably the most famous of all abbreviations and terms used in the Misc. The term relates to the desire to have anal sex with a person.

PIITV/PIITM (Poke It In The Vagina/Mouth): Not as common or popular as PIITB but used to describe the desire to have vaginal or oral sex with a person.

IMO (In My Opinion): Used worldwide but common in the Misc.

OP: Member who starts a thread.

Hit: Have sex with.

Fap: Masturbate.

ALPHA: Term used to describe someone or something of impressive strength or performance.
