Bogićevica (Albanian: Bogiçevica; Montenegrin and Serbian: Богићевица, Bogićevica) is a mountain area in the Prokletije. It spreads over Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo[a]. It is about 15 km (9 mi) long and 10 km (6 mi) wide. The mountain area has a number of peaks higher than 2,000 m (6,562 ft) and two higher than 2,500 m (8,202 ft). Marijaš (2,533 m/8,310 ft) and Maja e Ropës (2,502 m/8,209 ft) are both located in Kosovo. The towns of Dečani in Kosovo and Tropojë in Albania are located near the area.

A part of Maja e Ropës mountains has been declared mountains flora reserve in 1955 covering an area of 25h (molika, beech, pine). In the same area the Kozhnjari area was declared a fauna reserve covering an area of 161h especially beacause of the presence of chamois.

Notes:

a.   ^ Kosovo is the subject of a territorial dispute between the Republic of Serbia and the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo. The Assembly of Kosovo unilaterally declared its independence on 17 February 2008, a move that is recognised by 65 of the 192 UN member states and the Republic of China (Taiwan), but not by other UN member states. Serbia claims it as part of its own sovereign territory.
