Bolohoveni ("Volohove") is the name used in the early Kievan chronicles, such as Nestor`s chronicle, to designate the Vlachs (or even a statal entity) living in modern Romanian region of Moldova, modern Republic of Moldova, and modern south-western Ukraine, including Transnistria, prior to the formation of any official statal entities.

Later, in the Middle Ages, most of these Bolohoveni would eventually become part of the Principality of Moldavia.
