Bombilla & Gourd Inc. is a tea company based in Englewood, NJ and packages its product in a planet in New Kensington, Pennsylvania (outside of Pittsburgh). Bombilla Gourd was founded in 2006 by Ariel Nelson, Thomas Wollmann and Noah Krinick. Bombilla Gourd debuted with one product called Maté Tea™ in three flavors: a yerba mate-based tea focused around polyphenol (antioxidant), energy, and vitamin and mineral benefits. All of their products are certified kosher and USDA organic. Bombilla & Gourd Inc. is a privately held, rather than a publicly-traded company. Their logo and label were created by Dalia Cohen. The layout and back panels of the label were created by Mike DePalma, as were the sell materials.

Thomas Wollmann and Noah Krinick worked together before Bombilla Gourd in investment banking. Ariel Nelson and Noah Krinick grew up together in Englewood, NJ. The origin of their idea to create a tea company based around subtropical plant yerba mate remains a mystery to this day. The group has stated on numerous occasions that they will begin to divulge the details of the origin of their idea on youtube.com segments beginning early in 2007.

It is rumored that Wollmann drank between 20 and 40 cups of green tea in college per day as a cleansing ritual, which he has argued on numerous occasion allowed him to phenomenal grades in college, but cost him sleep. Many agree that Ariel Nelson's personality matches almost exactly Ari Gold from HBO-series Entourage. Noah Krinick is the only one who has not been accused of, on any occasion with a retailer, distributor, or supplier, being "totally out of his mind."
