BOONIKA is a project concieved and brought to life by artists, Marko HANDO Rukavina and Marko ZETS Prpic. It's goal is to bring together artists from all over the world.

BOONIKA is all about films, street-art, music, rabbits and hares, T-shirt design, animation, poetry... basically all concievable forms of creative work and design.

BOONIKA is not interested in establishing new art world order, nor do we want to be a place where artists fuss and fight.

BOONIKA is here to help out anyone struggling to survive in the world of arts.

Unlike some other projects, BOONIKA does not demonize commercial art and artists. It links independent artists with people who can add value to thier work.

BOONIKA wants artist to make a good living doing what they love and enjoy...acutally, we want You to make a very good living doing what you love and enjoy.

BOONIKA is here to enable every artist posting his/her recent projects to the art community without any interfering from the editor.

BOONIKA invites You to become a member and wants just one thing in return... for You to respect Weabbit "the Bearhunter ".

WEABBIT, WEBBIT or WABBIT (or however You want to call him) is the anti-mascot or anti-logo of Boonika.

It has no defined shape, form nor function. He is the bearhunter, earth defender, mushroom lover...and many others.

Weabitt came to be as a reaction to other mascots and heroes designed by world famous street-artists (eg. teddy bears, aliens etc.)

Weabbit is their archrival, their nemesis.
But in a good way. Weabbit doesn't want to destroy any other mascots, but increase their popularity thru healthy competition.

Boonika is extending an open invitation to anyone reading this article to submit his/her alteration of Weabbit.

Even though Weabbit came to be as a reaction to other artists' mascots, his genetic code can be found in the hero of hundreds of forrest animal jokes, THE RABBIT.

WHERE DID WORD BOONIKA CAME FROM?

Hyoscyamus Niger = BUNIKA (Boo-nee-kah), the most famous member of magical and deadly herb family that counts more than 20 ’’loco’’ members. This one in particular is known for its ability to drive people mad. Literally.Take it from the ancient Egyptians, or that blind Greek; Homer (not the one from Springfield) who noted that his fellow Greeks knew about BUNIKA and used various parts of this deadly beauty and ’’treated’’ themselves with balms, tonics, and cocktails.Rumor has it that even the Apollo oracles from Delphi caught on BUNIKA fashion and, thru the mystical smoke saw future. The smoke was the key as it is speculated to have originated from dried BUNIKA seeds and some other ’’incense’’. In the medieval times BUNIKA, together with some other herbs was the key element for making ’’witches balm’’ that was said to help the witches fly.

Just like morphine, Hyoscyamus niger greatly numbs the sensation of pain, and has, for that reason, been used as an easily obtainable analgetic.(it is self grown in most woods)
‘’First you feel immense pressure inside your head, your vision becomes blurry and the objects around you take strange forms.’’ Is how the intake of BUNIKA is most frequently described. Also, the taste, smell and tactile sensation change. And on the ‘’downside’’, consuming BUNIKA seeds can cause blindness, coma, and eventually; death.

Bunika is a green plant, 3-4 feet high with orange-yellow blossoms and purple/lavender veins on the petals. In the Mediterranean countries it is self grown by the roadsides, close to human settlements, and in abandoned places.

The Latin name, Hyoscyamus Niger is derived form the a greek word HYOS ,which means PIG, because according to Homer’s writings, Kirka, the sorceress, turned Odyssey’s shipmates into pigs using BUNIKA based drinks.
BUNIKA contains extremely toxic alkaloids; hyosciamine, atropine and scopolamine

Driven by the ancient writings, some herb researchers and scolrs ventured on testing BUNIKA and the WITCH BALM.
German professor Peuckert describes his 1960 experiment when he mixed BUNIKA extract with lard. His testimonials include wild dreams with grotesque faces dancing before his eyes, flying and falling and it all ended in an grotesque bizarre orgies.
Another researcher, Kisewetter prepared the WITCH BALM and rubbed it on his chest, near the heart. He immediately rose and flew carried by a strong wind.
Needless to say, none of the two actually flew, least of all , on the witches broom.
Nevertheless, the testimonials of what they went through after introducing BUNIKA or WITCHES BALM into their system are identical to the confessions take from the alleged witches that were tortured to confess to their witchery and ill activities.
Both ,the testimonials and the confessions, were the result of hallucinogenic effects of hyosciamine in BUNIKA and the witch balm.

Scopolamine is a toxic alkaloid substance, a poison that has very special effects . It is well know among the secret service agents as the ‘’brain washing’’ serum.
Gestapo officers called it ‘’the truth serum’’ since the person under influence of scopolamine can easily be manipulated and persuaded.
Atropin ,also a toxid alkaloid substance that induces short term amnesia. Modern day studies on its effects to the human organism offer an explanation as to why the witches under torture were confessing to have been turning into various animals.
In addition, atropine influences the nerv endings thusly giving the sensation that thick hair or feathers are growing from the person’s skin.

Combined, these three poisons (as they are found in BUNIKA) make the person that consumes BUNIKA seeds or other parts, experience hallucinations and delirium. Consequences include blindness and even death.
