Boredome is a form of abstract art that has grown extremely popular as of late. It was pioneered by members of the game programming website DIV-Arena. The word can have multiple meanings: "a Boredome" means a work of Boredome art, and "the Boredome" means the realm that all Boredome exists in. Some claim that "Boredome" has begun to be used as a verb by radical Boredome factions, but these rumors may be unfounded.

Boredome art utilizes violently bright colors, surreal imagery and what may appear to the untrained eye as amateurish, hasty drawing styles to create a visceral impact on the viewer. However, there is no clear definition of what a Boredome must be, and many works may be radically different from each other. The only common denominator seen in all the most popular Boredomes is the total lack of sanity or coherence.

As the name suggests, Boredome was born from boredom on the part of the founders. The Boredome began as a post on the DIV-Arena forums, titled "Welcome to the Boredome", with the message content "...exactly." The first example of Boredome art posted was an image of a large green elephant saying "I AM THE BOREDOME". This elephant has appeared in several subsequent Boredomes, and is the unofficial symbol of the Boredome.

As well as works of art, Boredome has turned its head towards music, designed to both confuse and amuse.
