Braminar is a text based
fantasy computer game for
MS-DOS, written in the
1980s.
It is not a
text adventure in the classic sense of
command-driven
interactive fiction, but rather what the
author called "boolean interactive fiction" where the vast majority

You will start out a 7-10 level player, and you
must gain
in experience by battling monsters, to build up to 20th
level.
Then, if you have the Staff of Aviatar, & it's prime
command,
you can challenge the Overlord, and battle his armies.
If
you succeed, you will be the new king of BRAMINAR!

This game was very popular at one point in
the BBS and "shareware/freeware disk catalog" scenes; it is simple,
easy to play, and has a setting which mixes common fantasy tropes
with quirky humor.
As of
2006 it is readily available on the
Internet, although there is no
single home
website for
it. It is runnable on any
computer capable of running MS-DOS programs either
natively or via emulation.
