Branded Concept Development, or BCD, is a NYC-based outsourced firm
for developing restaurant and retail concepts. BCD occupies a
unique niche in imparting proven expertise to a start-up concept or
supporting the roll-out of an existing brand offering complete
turn-key development services. .
History
BCD was
founded in September 2001 by Andrew Moger, the President and CEO.
Andrew had the vision to form BCD when he recognized the need for a
company to provide emerging concepts the option to outsourcing
their site selection, design and construction needs.
Before
2001, Andrew was responsible for the development of branded
restaurants and retail concepts across the United States and
overseas.
Product/Features
BCD works with both
startup concepts and existing brands. The company is divided into
four segments: Real Estate, Design, Construction, and Concept
Development . The four divisions of the company cover every aspect
required in developing a concept.
Real Estate:
brokerage services offered, demographics & market analysis
supplied, review/negotiate lease documents, assist in developing
marketing strategies on the local, regional, and national
levels.
Design: architectural and design
services provided, prototype development, concept/theme
development, interior design services, standardize construction
specifications &
requirements.
Construction: provide network of
contractors for leveraged pricing and accountability,
review/negotiate construction bids, supervise construction until
completion, follows-up for one year post-construction,
source/coordinate vendors for furniture, fixture, & equipment,
etc.
Concept Development: defines the
business’s branded position in the marketplace, create
graphics/corporate identity applications, design
branded/proprietary products, develops retail strategies, new
business, & strategic alliances, etc.
Projects
In
January of 2006, BCD expanded over 50 “Quiznos Sub” in New York,
Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester and Bergen Counties.
In February of
2006, BCD played the role of project manager for the renovation of
“Chevy’s Fresh Mex” in New York City’s Times Square.
In April
of 2006, BCD proudly announced their role as architect and project
manager for New York Yankee’s Mariano Rivera’s steakhouse in New
Rochelle, NY.
In June 2007, BCD along with “Cosi” opened 4 new
locations nationally. BCD oversaw the design of the Stamford (CT),
Baltimore (MD) and Owings Mills (MD) locations. BCD also acted as
project manager for the Stamford (CT) and the Great Neck (NY)
locations, supporting “Cosi” through the construction phases of
development.
In April 2007, BCD acted as exclusive real estate
broker and project manager for “Five Guys Famous Burgers and
Fries”. BCD was responsible for all the design and construction
services. “Five Guys” intends on opening 20 locations over the next
5 years.
Also, in April 2007, BCD was retained as exclusive
project manager for “Crumbs Bake Shop” In New York, Connecticut,
Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
BCD’s client portfolio also
includes: Alicart Restaurant Group, Ark Restaurants, Blockhead’s
Burritos, Camille’s Sidewalk Café, Desert Moon, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que,
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Papaya King, Red Mango,
Saladworks, The Pump Energy Food, Vitamin Shoppe, Zen Palate and
more.
Contribution to the Development Industry
On May
16th, 2007, at the Retail Construction Expo in Chicago, IL, BCD was
awarded the “Industry Achievement Award” from Retail Construction
Magazine in the Development Firm category. Industry leaders from 12
categories were recognized for their excellence in retail design,
development, construction and facilities management. The winners
were selected by how they helped advance their respective field of
industry through their achievements and contributions.
