Brandon Link (born
February 28,
1963 in
Midland, MI) is the inspiration for the movie
Two
for the Money which stars
Al Pacino,
Matthew McConaughey, and
Rene Russo. The
name of the character in the movie (played by Matthew McConaughey)
was changed to Brandon Lang. Unlike the movie character, Link did
not have a college football career. Instead he enlisted in the Navy
at age eighteen.
Link became involved in the sports-handicapping
industry when working for Jim Feist Sports as a scorephone
announcer. Occasionally picking games for the handicappers at Jim
Fiest, he attracted the attention of a handicapping service in New
York City, and ultimately moved there to begin his career.
Years
later, Link was caddying at a golf club when he met with the
producer who would ultimately get his story optioned. He has an
uncredited role as
Man Greeting Brandon #1.
Link was a
guest analyst on the show "Wager Wars" on
Internet-TV site
RawVegas.tv, which is hosted by fellow
sports-handicapper, Chris Jordan, who is featured on the websites
www.BrandonLang.com and www.WhoWillCover.com. Jordan appeared solo
on the November 29 Wager Wars College Edition and will continue to
do so, as Link no longer appears on the show.
Brandon claims to
be a winning sports bettor but that is pure fiction. However
visitors to his website have no knowledge of his past history, as
his long term statistics have magically disappeared since he went
on his current sustained losing streak.
In addition to his
current duties, Link is a regular Friday guest on
Daily News Live in
Philadelphia, PA, on
The Junkies airing on
106.7 WJFK in
Washington
D.C., and on
Milwaukee's
ESPN Radio 1510 Days/
1290
Nights every Thursday morning. He gives his picks for the local
teams as well as his "Two for the Money" pick.

Brandon
Lang interview Brandon Lang maintains a website
where sports fans can pay $1,595 in return for every one of his
picks for an entire year. Brandon picks a few games each day, and
values them anywhere from 5 "dimes" to 100 "dimes", based on his
confidence for that game. Each day, Brandon posts to the public his
wins/losses from the day before.
Over the course of 2007 we
noticed that Brandon was losing very consistently, yet only
advertising his big wins and ignoring the fact that he was down
hundreds of dimes. In the past he had published his records over
different periods of time. For example, his website might have read
"Up 200 dimes in the last 300 Days" or "Down 50 dimes in the last
100 days". Eventually he began to lose so often that he no longer
posted any long term results at all. If he posted his long term
results visitors would see that he has produced nothing but losing
results, so he completely stopped posting them.
Instead he
started picking and choosing very short term periods where he might
be up and only posting those records. The deception and
manipulation involved in this website is so unbelievable that we
began to track his records meticulously on a daily basis, starting
on March 1, 2008. We sincerely regret not tracking his stats over
2007 where we would have seen hundreds of dimes in losses. We will
continue to update this record on a weekly basis in order to
accurately monitor Lang's failures. We hope that any potential
customers will appreciate knowing the truth about his
website.
Actual Statistics as

"I closed out the sweet sixteen and elite 8 a

up and deliver another winning final four and the Friday night
preceding it."
