Toropov, based in
Boston, Massachusetts, began writing
when he was a Christian. His earlier works included "The
Everything Christmas Book: Stories, Songs, Food, Traditions,
Revelry, and More" and "Last Minute Interview Tips"
(Part of the "Last Minute" series), both of which receive regular
updates.
After converting to Islam on March 20, 2003, Toropov began writing books on Islam for
non-Muslims and converts to Islam like himself. These books include
the "Complete Idiot's Guide to the Koran" and the influential
"Beyond Mere Christianity", which was written as a rebuttal to C.S
Lewis' Mere Christianity. It argues that the
Christian Bible contains
evidence of Islam and Muslim beliefs. It also discusses the status of Jesus
in those verses that are regarded as the oldest.
