The Brandon University Debating Society is a student debating organization of Brandon University located in Brandon, Manitoba. Although it is generally believed that the history of the debating society dates back closer to the foundation of the University itself in 1900, its current structure dates back only until September of 2001.

Known as BUDS, the current debating society is a member of CUSID West, the western region of the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate, or CUSID. In the 2005-2006 academic year the organization expanded from its initial group of several students to encompass over fifty members, and offered its first regional Canadian debating tournament: The Wheat City Invitational.

This annual debating tournament is known for its emphasis on the use of heckling and unprepared debates. In its first year it was attended by students of the University of Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba, the University of Saskatchewan, and, ofcourse, Brandon University.
