Brandon Yip (born April 25, 1985 in Vancouver, British Columbia[1]) is a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Avalanche in the 8th round (239 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Yip is 3/4 Chinese and 1/4 Irish.[2]

After winning the 2009 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship in his senior year with Boston University, Yip made his NHL debut in his first pro season after being recalled by the Avalanche from the Lake Erie Monsters on December 19, 2009 in a 5-2 home win against the Columbus Blue Jackets.[3] Yip scored his first goal three days later against Jonas Hiller of the Anaheim Ducks.[4]
