Brendan! is an independant comedic comic book and flash cartoon created by Kevin Koivu and James Heppner. The plot revolves around Brendan, a 15 year-old psychopath who loves Thrash and Death metal. He is usually seen in a Korn t-shirt and plays guitar.

Characters

Brendan

Protagonist. A 15 year-old psychopath. He loves music, especially Thrash and Death metal. His favorite band is Korn and he is usually seen wearing their t-shirts. In addition to Korn, Brendan loves Slipknot, Metallica, Cradle Of Filth, Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne, and Mudvayne.

Courtney

Brendan's slutty sister who is usually hanging out with her latest boyfriend, which Brendan most often kills.

James

The lead singer and guitarist of the band, Raging Octopi, who looks suspiciously like a mix of James Hetfield (Metallica) and John Lennon (The Beatles). Brendan meets him when he joins the battle of the bands and beats Brendan in a guitar solo battle. Being a musician, James has alot of musical inspirations such as Metallica, Megadeth, Misfits, Ramones, and AC/DC. He is usually seen sporting their t-shirts.

Bacon Boy

A humongous humanoid who is constantly feeding his never-ending hunger for bacon. He meets Brendan when he journeys to King Burger for an enormous order of greasy, bacon-dowsed fast food. He is surprisingly smart, and knows more than most characters in the story.

Eurphio (Pronounced Yer-Fee-Oh)

A young boy who makes great mischief by killing people and getting other people blamed. His major part in the plot of Brendan! is when he kills Brendan for "going emo". After this happens, a special two issues of the book are dedicated to Eurphio by revolving around him and his lost cat. This dilema is solved when he brings James back from the dead (killed by Brendan) to find the feline.

Malice Mort

Brendan's concience...the evil side. He is the one who tells Brendan who to kill and how.

Zealous Zon

Brendan's Concience...the other evil side. He is supposed to be an angel, but he isn't doing his job. Ironically, he's worse than Malice.

The Yu-Gay-Oh Kids

Three teenage boys who are constantly playing the uber-popular japanese card game Yu-Gay-Oh. They are all inflicted with a horrible case of acne and prepare to d-d-d-d FIGHT whenever Brendan shows up.

Connie The Crack-head

A homeless old women who is on a never-ending search for more dope. She has lost her home, family, and mind to the drug, and only wants more.

Jeff

An effeminate djinn who only wishes to become human. He meets Brendan when Brendan opens a cola can he gets from a broken machine. The only way to become human is to go through some heavy plastic surgery and have the number burned into his skin removed.

Story

Brendan! usually has more character-driven stories rather than a linear plot. The first 10 issues and flash cartoons are meant to introduce characters and their personalities. It isn't until later in the series that the story takes a solid form. Brendan has many interesting adventures, including a trip to a magical place from a very famous movie which can't be mentioned due to copyright. Here's a hint: It rhymes with Gizzard of Koz. Usually each issue and episode ends with Brendan accidentally killing Courtney's new boyfriend and eating some sort of obscure food found in the general area.

Issues and Episodes

#1: Meet Brendan

Introduction to Brendan and Courtney. The plotline is the first look into Brendan's pyche as it involves Brendan walking in on Courtey and her boyfriend "doing it". The situation elavates from bad to worse when Brendan begins to desmember the unlucky guy while he's still alive.

#2: I am Eurphio!

Introduction to Eurphio and Bacon Boy. Brendan is on his way to the market when Eurphio appears from no where and kills a bum asking Brendan for money. Bacon Boy blames Brendan for the crime, and Eurphio pops him open. (Bacon Boy bleeds bacon) Eurphio then introduces himself and vanishes.

#3: Battle of The Bands

Introduction to James and Malice Mort. Brendan joins the battle of the bands and is amazed at how many awesome musicians are there. He happens to run across James, of the Raging Octopi, who is annoyed at Brendan's ignorance of the anatomy of a guitar. A little boy announces that there will be a guitar duel. Brendan loses to James, at which point he cracks James' skull open with his guitar. Malice Mort then appears, telling Brendan he is responsible for making Brendan kill.

#4: Bacon!

2nd appearence of Bacon Boy. Brendan takes Courtney to King Burger, where she and Brendan wait for hours to get a greasy heart-attack on a bun. Bacon Boy is holding up the line, ordering lots and lots of bacon cover food. He formally introduces himself to Brendan, and eats his order, making himself so big that he pops again.
