SOSDG to support the idea of a non-profit orginization that could provide free resources and hosting to individuals and

Free Software developers.
He currently provides technical experience to the group and acts as a
liaison between the
SOSDG and various businesses and orginizations

With the assistance of
Andrew D.
Kirch and other
SOSDG administrators, Bruns created the
AHBL to replace Joe Jared's
Osirusoft DNSbl list, which was taken offline by a massive
DDoS attack
[396][397].
In December 2005, in his capacity as an administrator with the AHBL, he was a named
defendant in a lawsuit brought by
Richard Scoville, whose website had been blocked by the AHBL's DNS blocking list.
The suit, which Bruns and the other named defendants characterized as frivolous, was dismissed by the presiding judge for lack of
jurisdiction.
