Dr.Brian Keith Whisenant is the Founder and CEO of Proximare.
Dr Whisenant was trained in medicine at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons and at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Whisenant completed his training in Cardiology at the University of California San Francisco.
Subsequent to his training, Dr. Whisenant joined the faculty at the University of Utah and subsequently founded Proximare in 2003.
Proximare is the a developer of a patent foramen ovale ("PFO") device for application in the human heart.
Proximare is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and has developed prototypes of its product and conducted limited animal trials.
He is married to Shannon Fillmore, formerly an attorney with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Hutchins & Wheeler.
Dr. and Shannon Whisenant have three children: Josh (born 1997), Sam (born 2000) and Claire (born 2003).
