Athletics

The Brick Township High School Green Dragons compete in the Shore Conference, an athletic conference made up of private and public high schools centered at the Northern Jersey Shore.[4] All schools in this conference are located within Monmouth County and Ocean County. The league operates under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).

Brick Township has 19 sports, including Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Cheering, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Indoor Track, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track, and Wrestling.

In the past couple of years, the gymnastics team has excelled, having placed fourth in state sectionals in 2006.[5]

The school is known for its powerful ice hockey program which produced NHL player Jim Dowd. Head Coach Bob Auriemma Sr. is New Jersey's all-time highest-winning high school ice hockey coach recently getting his 600th career win (Jan. 21, 2008), third highest winning high school coach in the nation, and the only hockey coach in the school's history. To date, Brick is the only public school ice hockey team to ever win the NJSIAA Overall State Title.

BTHS is noted for its strong football program led by Head Coach Warren Wolf, the Green Dragon's original head coach and New Jersey's all-time winningest football coach, with a 350-113-11 through the end of the 2006 season. Wolf will be starting his 50th season as coach in 2007, a tenure unmatched in New Jersey football history.[6]

BTHS also is notable for its performing arts program, which includes Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Chorus and Advanced Chorus. Their marching band has had great success competing in the USSBA circuit where they won the regional championship in 1998 and 2000 under their band director David Lyncheski.

Mascot

BTHS's mascot is the green dragon. Originally, Bobby Brick was the school's mascot.
