Brogdale is a hamlet in Kent, England, located beside the M2 motorway two miles south of Faversham. It is one of several hamlets making up the civil parish of Ospringe and is in the local government district of Swale. On August 10, 2003 the temperature reached 38.3 degrees Celsius or 101.3 F, a UK Weather Record.[1]
Brogdale is home to the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale farm, patronaged by HRH Prince Charles. The farm has over 2000 varieties of apple tree and around half that number again of pear varieties. Since the major grubbing out up of the Kentish orchards from the early 1990s onwards, many of the rarer varieties are found only here.
