Brooke Logan is a fictional character from the American soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Since the series' premiere in 1987, she has been portrayed by Katherine Kelly Lang, one of the four remaining original B&B cast members (along with Susan Flannery, John McCook, and Ronn Moss). She was temporarily portrayed by Sandra Ferguson in 1997, while Lang was on a maternity leave.

Brooke grew up in the San Fernando Valley outside Los Angeles with her mother Beth (Nancy Burnett) and siblings Storm (William deVry), Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Katie (Heather Tom). Brooke's father, Stephen (Patrick Duffy), had deserted the family when the children were very young, but he has recently sought to mend his relationship with Brooke.

Brooke, who in 1987 was a college student majoring in biochemistry, fell for rich playboy Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss) through the tabloids, and one evening she met him while working as a caterer for a Forrester party.

Brooke has been rivals with a number of women, most notably Stephanie Forrester, the mother of her so-called "destiny" Ridge Forrester. Stephanie disapproves of her relationship with Ridge and has constantly tried to get Brooke out of her sons' lives. Stephanie also despises Brooke for having married her husband, Eric Forrester, and for seducing (and subsequently marrying) her second son, Thorne Forrester. Stephanie feels like Brooke wants to steal the most important men in the Forrester Matriarch's life (her husband - now ex, and her sons).

The second most significant rivalry that Brooke has developed in the show is with Dr. Taylor Hamilton Hayes. The two women have been at odds with each other for many years, primarily over Ridge Forrester - a man that both women consider to be the love of their lives. More recently, there was also some competition between Brooke and Taylor for Nick Marone's affections, although neither woman has the same bond with Nick that they have with Ridge. Brooke considers Taylor to be self-righteous, sanctimonious and judgmental - while Taylor considers Brooke to be self-serving and morally deviant. Taylor said in 1998 that Brooke "hasn't made a single decision in her life that was based on anything more than her GUT instinct" - Taylor regarding herself as more "cerebral" (to use Dr. Pierce Peterson's words) than the visceral Brooke. Almost a decade later, when Brooke was trying to seduce another one of Taylor's fiancees (Nick Marone, Brooke's ex-husband) Taylor (usually go after Brooke's ex lovers) lashed out at Brooke and said: "You're histrionic! You're narcissistic! Quite frankly, I think you're borderline!"

Brooke also became mortal enemies with Macy Alexander, as a consequence of trying to seduce/steal away Macy's fiancee Thorne Forrester. Brooke told Macy in 1999 that she "cannot believe why Thorne would want somebody like" Macy, and in 2003, she said that Macy couldn't possibly measure up to her. Macy would usually retaliate by calling Brooke a slut or a whore, much like Stephanie Forrester does. However, Macy never called Brooke any of these things until Brooke started to pursue Macy's fiancee Thorne. Also, her children are Rick and Bridget with Eric Forrester, Hope Logan (by Deacon) who is adopted by Ridge Forrester and R.J. Forrester with Ridge; and while not the birth-mother, is the biological mother of Jack Marone via incidental egg donor to Taylor Hayes and Nick (Jack Wagner)

Brooke, as Stephanie states, always "mistakes sex for love" and it is for this reason that she has been married 11 times, 5 of which to Ridge. Moreover, it is because of this "mistake" that very few of Brooke's marriages makes it to the first year anniversary.

Character's background

Caroline and Brooke's Relationship

Was a very complex relationship. After Caroline was in the hospital for an almost rape Brooke went to meet her and introduced herself to her. Caroline and Brooke became tight friends even though Stephanie was suspicious of Brooke and became more so after she discovered she was Beth's daughter. Caroline relayed to Brooke that she planned on losing her virginity to her husband. Whereas Brooke (who was still a virgin) planned on losing her virginity to the man she loved. Marriage didn't necessarily have to be part of the deal. Their philosophies actually played a role in their fate. Caroline and Taylor, the good girls and Brooke the tramp (based on her economic status and not necessarily off of her morals since Brooke was still a virgin at the time); which Stephanie loved to fondly say before Brooke even became that title. Caroline went back and forth not knowing whether or not she wanted Ridge due to Ridge having an affair with another woman other than Brooke. So she married Thorne.

Ridge Forrester

Brooke lost her virginity to Ridge. Ever since meeting Ridge, their relationship has been troubled, often because of the manipulations of his mother Stephanie who despised Brooke's mother Beth and their socio-economic middle class status. And based on this she deemed Brooke as unclassy and the slut from the valley. Although Ridge has been entrapped by the idea of loving women his mother has manipulated him into wanting such as Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo), his heart always belonged to Brooke in some fashion. Brooke used to feel that Ridge was her "destiny" and the couple has endured many trips to the altar. Finally in 2004 (after eight marriages, four of them to Ridge but only one of those valid) Brooke gave birth to Ridge's son R.J. Forrester. The two were recently engaged once again however Ridge's physical attack on her son Rick (Kyle Lowder), proved to be the turning point in their relationship when Brooke broke off their engagement. Hurt and furious that Ridge would dare to harm her son, Brooke refuses to forgive him. Ridge and Ashley Abbott started to date in April 2007 though it's clear he still very much in love with Brooke. Ridge and Brooke had a chance to reunite however when he realized that she still had feelings for Nick, he turned her down. Ridge's relationship with Brooke was strained when a series of events causes CPS to put RJ and Hope in his custody. Although he believes Brooke is a good mother and doesn't want to take the children, he thinks that she needs some time to get herself together. Brooke feels that Ridge has betrayed her and he feels torn between his love for her and concern for their children. However, after discovering Brooke's attacker's identity, he fought him off, and the attacker was accidentally killed after being distracted by a security guard and a flock of pigeons into a transformer, whilst holding an electrical antenna. Subsequently, Ridge dropped the custody suit, and, against Stephanie's wishes, reunited Brooke and her children. After he broke off his engagement to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), he and Brooke reunited. Brooke & Ridge have recently gotten married for the fifth time in 2009. However, the marriage has been declared invalid due to Pam's clerical error - their fourth out of five marriages that have been invalid.

Eric Forrester

When Ridge left Brooke for Caroline, Eric consoled Brooke and they fell in love. She soon became pregnant with Rick and Eric divorced Stephanie and married Brooke. Brooke got pregnant again, with Bridget (Ashley Jones), but didn't know the paternity of the baby: was it Eric or Ridge? After one misleading test (tampered with by Sheila), it was proven Eric was the father. Eric and Brooke divorced after 2 years of marriage. The pair remarried in 2005 as part of a scheme to keep Bridget and Nick together - which was to convince Bridget that Brooke was not going to steal Nick from her. The marriage was dissolved only months later. Eric returned to Stephanie, but has now divorced her again, as he has fallen in love with Brooke's sister, Donna.

Thorne and Brooke

After revealing her true feelings to Deacon about her love for Ridge (which came as a shock to her and Deacon since she was married to Thorne Forrester) which Thorne heard, she became extremely depressed and withdrawn after Thorne left her running after him screaming his name. Taylor Hayes, heard about Brooke's remaining love for Ridge and confronted her about it after Stephanie had called her a slut from the valley and a tramp and now she was rid of her forever. After Stephanie's disparaging remarks then Taylor came over and called her pathetic and a weak excuse for a person. Brooke had been drinking, looking pale while still trying to reach Thorne on the phone. Taylor tells her she's stupid to still have feelings for Ridge when she had a good man like Thorne because Ridge obviously doesn't love her or want her. She continues the tirade until Brooke says she can have him if she wanted him to which Taylor bursts into laughter as dried tears and wet eyes glared at her.

Deacon Sharpe

The Deacon incident occurred after Brooke revealed to Deacon in a depressed state that she still loved Ridge.Thorne heard this and rejected her. This in turn led to further depression and Deacon started to act as the knight in shining armour. Brooke and Deacon had sex one night Brooke agreed that the affair could no longer continue however they continued. Brooke became pregnant with Deacon's child (Hope) and decided to marry Whipple Jones at Stephanie's insistence so Deacon could move on with Bridget. However, Deacon couldn't stay away from Brooke, and Brooke couldn't keep her hands off Deacon whenever they were alone together. They continued their torrid affair, and Brooke slept with her son-in-law many times. She even told Stephanie that she wanted to tell her daughter Bridget that she was in love with Bridget's husband/her son-in-law, was pregnant with his child, and wanted Bridget to divorce him so that he could marry her instead. She told Stephanie that she had been making a huge sacrifice for Bridget all this time. Bridget found out about her mother's betrayal, when she overheard Deacon & Brooke discussing their feelings for each other over the baby monitor. For a while, Brooke lost her daughter Bridget (then played by Jennifer Finnigan). She ultimately broke up with Deacon for good, in her desperation to patch things up with Bridget. And Deacon left town because he was an alcoholic and he left his love interest Jackie Marone at this time. This is the time when Deacon was fighting Massimo over his wife Jackie. He was attempting to seduce her as well. During this time Brooke and Deacon had long gone their separate ways. Months later, Brooke was trying to reunite with Ridge following his wife Taylor's supposed death. Deacon returned to L.A and wanted to be a father to their child, but Brooke refused him because she was looking out more for her children's needs since Ridge rejected her again after he found out about the affair that had occurred between Brooke and Deacon. Hope was about three years of age at this time. Later she fought for custody of Hope. Deacon had to back off and left L.A. with his son Eric Sharpe and moved to Las Vegas. Later he signed his paternal rights to Hope over to Ridge.

Paternity of RJ Forrester

After being disappointed by Ridge, Brooke started seeing the new man in town, Dominick "Nick" Payne. Little did she know he was Ridge's half-brother. In the end though Brooke returned to Ridge, but her feelings for Nick weren't completely gone. Thinking that Ridge had died after being kidnapped by Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) on their wedding night, Brooke slept with Nick and wound up pregnant, and wasn't sure of the paternity of the child. Ridge (who turned out to be alive after all) was proven to be the father of a boy they named Ridge Junior, aka RJ. Nick went on to marry Brooke's daughter Bridget when he learned that she was pregnant with his child, but the feelings between Nick and Brooke never went away. Eventually Bridget lost the baby and decided to give Nick his freedom so that he could be with Brooke. Brooke married Nick, but Ridge's constant interference caused Nick to embark on a drunken one-night stand with Bridget resulting in another pregnancy. Nick soon revealed to Brooke that Bridget was pregnant with his child. A furious Brooke dumped him and went back to Ridge, not realizing that Bridget's baby was actually fathered by Dante Damiano (Antonio Sabato, Jr.). Bridget lost the baby, but yet Nick had vengeance on his mind after his mother fell over a balcony during an argument with Stephanie. To get even with Stephanie, he blackmailed Eric to sell Forrester Creations to him, or else Stephanie would be going to jail. He got the company, making enemies of the entire Forrester family in the process; and even Brooke stunned him by selling her shares to him and leaving him returning to Ridge. Brooke's break-up with Ridge when he physically assaulted her son, Rick, is she tried to get Nick back. Nick, however, married her longtime rival, Dr. Taylor Hayes in May 2007.

Stephanie Forrester

Brooke was the daughter of Stephanie Douglas Forrester's old college rival Beth Logan. Stephanie has never liked Brooke from the beginning, because Brooke was Beth's daughter. Brooke however, has liked (and aspired to be like) Stephanie, from the beginning and has tried to gain her support and love on a regular basis. Stephanie unfortunately could, never accept Brooke's relations with her son Ridge. Her hatred for Brooke and Ridge's relationship, only led to her husband Eric and her son Thorne to feel sorry for Brooke; which actually led to them comforting Brooke and eventually marrying her. Stephanie's hatred and physical abuse and manipulations led to many situations that occurred regarding Brooke's often erratic behavior. Stephanie has gone to great lengths to keep the "The Tramp from the Valley" out of her family. However, in a surprising about-face, Stephanie embraced Brooke and gave her 50% percent ownership of Forrester Creations, after her son Ridge nearly died from a heart attack brought on by anger over Stephanie's continuing disdain for Brooke. Things quickly changed after Brooke married Nick Marone, however. Stephanie even asked for Brooke to return the stock because she was not part of the family any longer. Brooke refused to give back the stock. However, since Brooke left Nick and is now back with Ridge, Stephanie and Brooke's relationship has improved significantly. Their feuding did return with Eric and Brooke's son, Rick when he came to LA, and he became enamored with his step-niece and Stephanie's granddaughter, Phoebe Forrester. Stephanie feels that Brooke's support for their relationship is misplaced, and was very relieved when Brooke ended her engagement to Ridge in April 2007. When it was discovered that Stephanie had had a hand in her rape, Brooke has returned to Ridge and they are determined to build a life together, despite Stephanie's meddling. However, Stephanie's guilt has made her soften her criticisms of Brooke and she has genuinely welcomed her to the family. The rivalry between Stephanie and Brooke returned in July 2007, when Stephanie used her influence to have Child Protective Services investigate Brooke when a series of unfortunate events occurred and Hope and R.J. were accidentally left alone. Stephanie used her position to testify and have a reluctant Ridge go for temporary custody of the children. She was thrilled to have taken Brooke's children and refused to let Brooke see them. Stephanie vowed to keep the children and Brooke away from her family.

Brooke's Rape

In a desperate attempt to prove that Brooke was an unfit mother, Stephanie convinced sleazy lawyer Andy Johnson (Paul Ganus) to pursue Brooke. Andy began to send Brooke gifts, and began to forcefully flirt with her in spite of her intense disinterest in him. In August 2007, Andy followed Brooke home and raped her, threatening to damage her chances of gaining custody of Hope and R.J. should she report him to the police. She has revealed her attack to Bridget, and Ridge. A furious Ridge tracked Andy down on the top of a roof of an upscale eatery, and after being distracted by a security guard and a flock of pigeons, was backed into an electrical transformer, whilst holding an antenna. Andy was electrocuted, and the death was ruled accidental. Against Stephanie's wishes, Ridge dropped the custody suit (she had hoped to help him get permanent custody) and reunited Brooke and her children. She later revealed the story of her attack to not only Nick; but to Felicia, her sisters, Donna and Katie, Eric and also Ridge's ex-fiancee, Ashley. When she discovered that it was Stephanie who had a hand in it, (although she did not know what Andy had done) Brooke furiously destroyed all the pictures of Stephanie on the mantel. This occurred after she received a letter from Stephanie, who had found out what happened and offered a heartfelt apology, before leaving town without telling anyone. When Stephanie did return, she went to see Brooke, who was furious with her for her hand in the rape. As Stephanie pleaded to forgive her, Brooke remained unmoved, until she encouraged Brooke to tell her what he had done. Which Brooke did, and it shocked even the unflappable Stephanie to the core. Although she has accepted Stephanie's explanation, she did not accept her apology or forgive her for her hand in one of her most traumatizing moments. She has bonded together with her family; and used the incident to lure Ridge away from Ashley resulting in him breaking up with Ashley and reuniting with Brooke.

Brooke and Her Children

She also doesn't like the idea of Bridget getting involved with Nick her ex-husband (due to Nick's affairs within the family: Brooke, Felicia, Bridget and now Katie who is pregnant by Nick who is presently married to Bridget) since she's well aware that Nick has the same impetuous nature she once had. She's infuriated by Rick's choice to marry Taylor (and slapped Taylor, something she rarely does after Rick proposed marriage in front of her and Ridge) but has decided along with Ridge to ignore the couple hoping that their lack of negative emotion will soon play out eventually. She believes that Rick is marrying Taylor to spite her for all the years she chased after Ridge and ignored him and Bridget. And that Taylor is marrying Rick to get back at her since she blames her for breaking up her and Ridge's marriage. Brooke also believes Taylor is sick with jealousy, animosity and hatred for her and she's also going after Rick because she's afraid Brooke will take Jack from her. Brooke did not win custody of Jack but Nick and this pleased her even though Taylor could have visitation rights; since she only wanted to make sure the child would be kept in loving safe hands. Bridget is now the stepmother to Jack. Taylor's animosity towards Brooke has also waned since Taylor and Rick have become a couple and Brooke and Ridge have completely ignored the couple because they're now interested in running and controlling Forrester Creations. However, after Eric took ill the siblings Thorne, Felicia, and Ridge started to vye for control of Forrester Creations along with Brooke.

Recent Storylines

Taylor's Inability to Bond with Jack

Brooke is upset to find out that Stephanie and her children are keeping Donna and her from seeing Eric and she's concerned about Taylor's inability to bond with her baby due to the connection Jack, the baby has with Brooke, his biological mother. Brooke relays her concerns to Nick and Taylor acknowledges that she is having problems. Brooke's son, Rick is working on trying to get Taylor to open up more to Brooke when it comes to her nurturing the child so that he can get the love and attention that he deserves. Taylor has also decided to give up baby Jack to Brooke since he's more calm in her presence as oppose to Taylor's.

Taylor admits she's been in competition with Brooke

Taylor acknowledges to Nick that she's been in competition with Brooke for so long and hasn't realized it and she wants to do what's best for baby Jack and that's Brooke. She also believes that the baby is possibly picking up on the animosity she has against Brooke. Nick relates to her how this decision could cause problems in Ridge and Brooke's relationship. And she tells Nick, "To forget Ridge and that Jack needs what's best for him now and that's Brooke."

Taylor Wants Ridge Forrester back

Later that evening in bed with Rick Forrester (Brooke's son) she starts wondering if Ridge will be able to bond with Baby Jack then she has a sexual fantasy about her and Ridge when they were married and she removes Rick's hand from her and says to herself, "I have got to stop thinking about Ridge." It is evident that the story is moving towards another break up between Ridge and Brooke due to Taylor. Therefore, Ridge and Taylor will experience a potential get together and Brooke and Nick (even though he's with Katie now) since they're Jack's biological parents.

Taylor Makes her Move

Ridge finds out from Brooke that Taylor is still in love with him. He goes to Taylor's place at the urging of Brooke who wants Taylor to cancel her wedding plans for Rick (Brooke's son). Taylor tells Ridge she loves him and then starts talking about Brooke and planting fears in Ridge's head that Brooke will go back to Nick. They discuss their past marriage and then Taylor takes Ridge's face and kisses him and he responds back.

Taylor vs. Brooke Yet Again

Taylor comes in and hears Brooke and Ridge arguing over baby Jack and Nick. Taylor becomes concerned because she didn't think giving Jack to Brooke to raise would cause a major problem. She later on speaks to Ridge and encourages him not to marry Brooke, while a foolish Rick waits for Taylor to come to their wedding planner appointment. She never shows, but Stephanie Forrester (Ridge's mom) shows up and tells him to give up marrying Taylor because Ridge and Taylor belong together. As Taylor persuades Ridge not to marry Brooke, she comes in and tells Taylor, "To stay the hell away from my family." However, poor foolish Brooke is unaware of how much Ridge is in love with himself, since he's primarily the one encouraging this infatuation of Taylor's.

Taylor makes a threat to Brooke that she intends on getting her husband back after Brooke railroads her for breaking Rick's heart by choosing Ridge as her one and only true love.

Rick attacks Ridge on top of the Forrester Creation's building and falls to the concrete only to wake up paralyzed in the hospital. Brooke becomes infuriated with Taylor for not leaving Rick when she told her to and causing the reaction in Rick. Taylor then takes this opportunity to blame Brooke for Rick running after older women since she never had time for him always chasing Ridge when he was married to her and then she boldly announces that she's going to take Ridge back from her by whatever means necessary.

Rick may help Taylor to get her wish

Rick despises Ridge for destroying his relationship with Taylor and for leaving his mother in a dismal mess when he was a child so he determines to destroy Ridge and Brooke's relationship by any means necessary. Rick yells at Taylor to leave him alone after she comes to visit him in the hospital.

He later discovers he can walk but doesn't tell his mother or Ridge and then demands that if his mother loves him she'll kick Ridge out of the house. Brooke does so after feeling guilty about how she constantly focused on Ridge during Rick's childhood and teenage years and Ridge spends the night at Taylor's house.

Taylor, calls her children and Stephanie to encourage Ridge to have a change of heart by leaving Brooke and remarrying Taylor. Ridge determines to them that he'll stay for now but that he's still committed to Brooke as Taylor continues to massage him and stroke his ego while Brooke is dealing with her son whose faking paralysis.

Rick determines to worsen the situation between his mother and Ridge by causing a rift between Eric (Ridge's step father) and Ridge by relaying to Eric that Ridge tried to kill him while he was in a coma. Eric thereby names Rick as President of Forrester Creations. As this is going on Ridge is still staying with Taylor and comes to her in a dismal state as Brooke backs her son up but at the same time disagrees with Eric by stating that Ridge should have the position. To make matters worse Rick recently edited a video message on the internet by having "Brooke's praising of Ridge as a powerful influence of the company" eliminated and edited the message to sound as if she was praising Rick, her son.

Tradegy Strikes but Brooke and Ridge still marry

During Brooke and Ridge's engagement party, Rick has a car accident, and Phoebe is killed. Ridge is distraught at the death of his daughter and blames Rick for the accident, despite evidence suggesting he was not responsible for the crash. Ridge's grief and anger at Rick drives a wedge in his relationship with Brooke, but he bonds with Taylor as they say farewell to their daughter. Ridge, however, in January 2009, marries Brooke in a romantic wedding ceremony at Malibu beach. They were the only two present at the "beach" wedding, but they went to City Hall after the wedding and made their marriage official. As a result of their wedding, Taylor (and Stephanie) temporarily atopped their pursuit of Ridge, and Brooke felt confident as her new role as Mrs Ridge Forrester. It would however be revealed a couple of months later that the marriage was not valid due to Pam's clerical error on the marriage license.

Taylor's Son Stalks Rick

Thomas in a heartfelt admission told Taylor that he's the one who set Rick's home on fire and he's also the one who rigged Rick's car to explode. According to him he wasn't trying to kill him but stop him from going after Steffy. It sickened him that Rick had sex with his mother Taylor (Phoebe's first boyfriend), went after Phoebe and then after Steffy. He called Rick sick and said he was making him sick. Taylor acknowledged that she understood that it was hard for him to see her get enmeshed in people's lives who quite frankly they don't like, such as "Nick and Rick (Brooke's ex-husband and son)." And it must have been very difficult for him to go through this by himself. And she had to take responsibility for focusing on her own needs and ignoring her son's silent pleas for help. He told her after Ridge left he tried to be the man of the house and felt weak because he hated Rick and he hopes he ends up in hell.

Ridge gives his son a hug telling him that he understands and Taylor and Ridge stand behind Thomas as he tells Steffy the truth. She's sickened by his admission and when she wants to go back to Rick, he tells her he forbids her to go anywhere near Rick. Ridge and Taylor stand behind him as though their in agreement.

As this is occurring Stephanie is badgering Brooke by telling her that it'll be a matter of time before Taylor and Ridge are a family again. She also refuses to leave Brooke's abode even though Brooke threatens to call the police and have her thrown out, however, she claims to be there only to protect her grandchildren from another psycho (claims Pam her sister isn't the psycho)whose hell bent on killing Rick.

Rick reminds his mother Brooke of all of the manipulative and devious plots she's tried in the past to keep her and Ridge apart and asks her, "Doesn't this sound familiar. She's just manipulating the situation." Brooke agrees with her son and argues with Stephanie to leave which Stephanie doesn't agree to do. She also calls Rick an inflammatory name and confesses to intensely disliking him and his mother.

So even though Ridge and Brooke are committed again to each other Stephanie is working her voodoo along with Taylor whose considering covering up Thomas indescretion along with Ridge.

Taylor confronts Brooke

Pam's clerical error on Ridge and Brooke's marriage license which was signed at City Hall has meant that Ridge and Brooke's marriage has not been legalised - another invalid marriage between the couple. This means that Brooke and Ridge are not legally married, despite them having thought that they had made their marriage official at City Hall. This therefore is the fourth time that Brooke and Ridge's marriage is considered to be invalid. Taylor confronts Brooke about wanting Thomas (Rick's stalker) to work at Forrester Creations with Rick. Both Brooke and Rick disagree and Ridge backs up Taylor and goes against Brooke. She uses a Stephanie tactic and tells her that she's upset because Thomas is Ridge and her son. "Our (stresses) son has just as much right to work here as your son does." Brooke can't believe that Ridge is falling for what she calls "Taylor's divisive tactics." After the two talk together once Ridge leaves. Taylor blurts out that their marriage is invalid.

Ridge leaves Brooke

When Rick convinced Steffy to give hm another chance they told Brooke and Ridge about their relationship. Brooke gave her full support but Ridge demanded Brooke forbid her son from seeing his daughter to which Brooke said she couldn't. Ridge told Brooke their marriage was invalid stormed out of the house saying that Rick had finally succeded in breaking Brooke and Ridge up. After spending the night in Big Bear Ridge returned to L.A. and told Brooke that he could no longer separate his love for her and his hatred at Rick so he had to leave. Brooke layed on the couch as Rick entered and learned that Ridge moved out and wasn't coming back. Rick tried to comfort his mother to no avail as Brooke finally realized that because she chose Rick she has lost Ridge. He leaves her to get back with Taylor. And in the process Ridge under the influence of anti-anxiety medication has a one night stand with Taylor.

Brooke leaves Ridge

Ridge tells Taylor he will confess to Brooke about their one night stand, since he wants to make his marriage to Brooke work.

Brooke leaves Ridge after a guilt ridden Ridge exposes his adulterous affair with Taylor. She comes to a realization that he could never unconditionally love her due to her son Rick - the man he blames for killing his daughter. She tells him to marry Taylor. Maybe they can console each other in their grief. Ridge doesn't want to leave the marriage but admits he could never forgive Rick.

After Ridge confronts Brooke about him sleeping with Taylor, Brooke ends their 5th marriage. She also decides to take a leave of absence from Forrester Creations. This upsets Eric, particularly since Thorne and Felicia resigned on the same day. Eric tells Ridge to convince Brooke to stay. Ridge and Brooke realise that their marriage will never work since Ridge can't accept Rick and Brooke cannot turn her back on her son. Brooke has an emotional goodbye to her husband.

It is spoilered that Brooke will renege on her decision to give Ridge to Taylor, and at their upcoming wedding, Brooke will stop Ridge and Taylor from marrying. Will she be able to get Ridge back?
