Brownell Bailey (
1953-) is a
real estate developer, development project
manager, planner, civic leader, and philanthropist. Real estate
development projects the he has been involved with include
environmentally sensitive, mountain resort projects in
Summit
County and
Douglas County, Colorado, suburban
commercial development and redevelopment in
Denver, Colorado,
and river and wetlands restoration projects near
Breckenridge, Colorado and
Logan,
Utah.
Bailey is a former Council member in the towns of
Breckenridge, Colorado (
1984-
1986) and
Bow Mar, Colorado (
1988-
1990),
and is currently a member of the
Blue River,
Colorado Board of Zoning Appeals. He has served as
vice-chairman of the Upper Blue River Regional Planning Commission
(
1984-
1988). He was an Advisory Board member to the
Trust for Public Lands, and serves as the chairman of the board at
the
Breckenridge Outdoor
Education Center. He is also an honorary Board member of the
Summit Huts Association, and is a member of the Blue Ribbon Panel
Inventory Subcommittee and Blue Ribbon Panel Funding Subcommittee
of
Cherry Hills Village,
Colorado. Along with his real estate and land planning
ventures, he served on the board of
Quiznos Subs (
1993-
1999).
He
received a B.S. in
Urban Planning and
Engineering from
Worcester Polytechnic
Institute in
1980, and a
B.A. in
Modern Languages (
French) from
Union College in
1976. He is a member of the
Psi Upsilon fraternity.
Bailey has
three sons: Brandon Bailey,
Spencer Bailey and Trent Bailey. He currently
lives in
Englewood, Colorado.
