Bruce Jason Klein (born
April 11 1974) is an
American entrepreneur.
The only son of Bruce Michael
Klein and Theresa Lee Bishop, Klein was born in
Opelika, Alabama,
and spent most of his formative years in
Americus,
Georgia. In 1996 he graduated from the
University of
Georgia with a degree in
finance. In 2002 he co-founded the
non-profit Immortality
Institute. Klein edited the Institute's first book,
The
Scientific Conquest of Death, and organized the first Life
Extension Conference in 2005. Also in that year he produced a
documentary film, consisting of interviews with more than fifty
scientists and futurists, called
Exploring Life Extension.
Klein is President of
Novamente LLC, a privately held AI software
company developing
Artificial General Intelligence. Klein is director
of the non-profit
Artificial
General Intelligence Research Institute and helped organize its
first AGI Workshop in 2006.
Klein currently lives in
San Francisco, California with his
wife, Susan Fonseca-Klein.
