BuzzFlood is a student run organization founded in 2003 by students at Dartmouth College, NH, USA. It is dedicated to the total humiliation of reasonable Dartmouth students, alumni, and faculty members. BuzzFlood was founded by a group of mewling Dartmouth students who were still bitter at not having gained admission to more "prestigious" colleges. These students decided that the best way to ensure Dartmouth's continued pseudo-elite status was through a wingbat campaign of "branding" and "imaging." Many students and alumni protested BuzzFlood's emergence. Charles "Chas" X. McMillan, VI, a member of the class of 1952 told NPR, "It's a sad day for American education when so wonderful a place as Dartmouth must needs compare itself to a disposable product worthy of the efforts of so many Madison Avenue shills." In spite of the dissent, Dartmouth's famously mamby-pamby administration caved instantly, and declared itself in full support of the BuzzFlood dream.

Co-captain and MVP of the Dartmouth Basketball Team (10-17 [7-7]) David Gardner, was described in The Dartmouth: "Because David is so enthusiastic about the Dartmouth community, Gardner helped found BuzzFlood to pay tribute to it. Thus far, the site has had over 3 million hits - a huge accomplishment, especially in a community like Dartmouth that is comparatively small." Evidently, BuzzFlood was the brainchild of students who would have spent their time more profitably in remedial writing classes.

In the winter of 2005, BuzzFlood embarked on a new project focusing on Community Journalism. It is sponsored by the Tucker Foundation at Dartmouth. Dean Stuart Lord is on the Advisory Board of the group. Dartmouth College is willing to bestow the "Dean" title on nearly anyone these days.

Comments from professors

Emeritus Professor Jere Daniell, Class of 1955 at Dartmouth College, said "BuzzFlood couldn't come at a better time: the school is coming apart at its very seams, and I welcome any development that might hasten this process."

Professor of Computer Science Hany Farid said "BuzzFlood is a must read by Dartmouth College administrators, faculty, staff, students, and anyone interested in the ground-breaking scholarship happening at Dartmouth College. If you'll excuse me, I must get back to this ground-breaking scholarship I've been working on. Check it out: an egg timer that you can bring to the pool."
