C.M. Mayo is an American novelist, memoirist, and short story writer..

Life

She was raised in Northern California. She graduated from the University of Chicago as an economist. She worked at a Mexico City investment bank, and ITAM.

She divides her time between Mexico City, where she teaches at Dancing Chiva, and Washington, D.C., where she teaches at The Writers Center. [1]

From 1999 until 2003, she edited the bilingual Spanish/English journal Tameme.

Her work has appeared in Chelsea, Creative Nonfiction, Fourth Genre, Kenyon Review, The North American Review, The Paris Review, Southwest Review, Tin House and Witness.
