COPS is a machinima comedic drama video series created by Chillay Productions and distributed primarily through the Internet and DVD. The series chronicles the story of the Las Venturas Police Force and there lives on duty. It began on New Years Day 2007 with the first episode and has spanned over 2 series. It has been generally well received on YouTube (where it’s main distribution takes place) With over half a million views of the series so far and over 500 YouTube users subscribed to the series.

Plot

Season 1

The first series of COPS sees the officers trying to do there jobs while avoiding frequent near death experiences such as assassination attempts. Throughout series 1 they are fighting everyday crimes such as speeding, graffiting, arson, drug dealing but as the series progresses the crimes get more and more serious. Climaxing with a 2 part finale. In the finale Officer Chillay was brutally killed. Pig and Will, left to grieve are forced to foil a terrorist attempt without there now dead partner.

The owners of Chillay Productions all agreed to end COPS at the end of series 1, So they killed off the main character ,Chillay. But over the various months COPS only grew in popularity and people demanded more.
The makers just thought it would all blow over so they just left it, but finally they caved in and began writing for season 2.
They made a deal that if they didn't write anything good they wouldn't film, but sure enough they wrote a episode that everyone
loved, the episode also managed to bring back the killed off character "Chillay"

Season 2

After a replacment was found for Chillay it was back to work as usual for the team. Throughout the series they began to recruit more officers to increase the force. They foiled terrorist attempts as well as everyday crimes much like series 1, while still avoiding near death experiences. After the station run into money troubles all the officers went out to get day jobs to try and save the station from finacial doom. Chillay managed to catch 2 wanted criminals while he was working at the Las Venturas Planning Office. There was a reward for the capture of the criminals and with the newly acquired reward the officers moved to a new station in Los Santos. The finale of Series 2 saw the entire state turn on the COPS after a corrupt TV Reporter exposed the officers for killing innocent civilians. Officer Will, one of the longest serving officers was kidnapped and series 2 ending with the cliffhanger of a gun being fired at Will in a warehouse. Not knowing if he is alive of dead.

Season 3

Season 3 is currently in pre-production and will be released late August 2007.
The makers announced that the first episode of season 3 will be called "Gettin' Even"
They also announced that the Cops theme song will be changed.

COPS: The Movie

It has been confirmed by the creator of COPS that a movie is in the works. It is quite likely to continue on from the finale of season 3. It is expected to be released early 2008.

Characters

The series has revolved around several main officers and several other supporting officers who may not appear in every episode. Several other characters, such as the main characters in both series finales, have played significant roles at various points in the story.

Main characters

Chillay is the highest ranking officer and in series 2 became the head, as well as the owner of the Los Santos police station. He, like a lot of the other officers are loyal to the job and very commited. He does not believe in bribes and will punish anyone who seems to be offering them to him. He also kills any OAP.
Youngy is the next highest ranking officer after Chillay. He has been with the station since the beginning and has survived many dangerous situations. He has the same views as Chillay on bribes, as well as Grannys.

Marty, like Youngy is a high ranking officer. He is level with Youngy. He has been with Chillay and Youngy since the beginning. At the current time it is not known of his location or whether he is still alive.

Remix also ranks highly in the station. He was one of the 4 original officers and has been loyal. He encourages Granny killings and does not take bribes. He feels Grannys who offer bribes are lower then rats.

TeeDee joined the officer pretty recently but has made himself well known quickly and is climbing the ranks. He was transferred from the United Kingdom several months ago. He is yet to kill his first Granny but is expected to in the weeks to come. He also dislikes bribes. We think.

Spinkstar is another key officer, with his high morals and commitment to the job he makes the perfect officer. Following orders with superb skill and always keeping cool under pressure, he is a real asset to the team.

Supporting characters

There are many supporting officers who appear in episodes but are not regular fixtures. Over the course of series 3 we expect some to come out of there shells and become full time officers. They include:
