Overview
CRacKeD
Clan (shortly CRKD) is a
Halo PC clan, founded by Rock in
2003.The clan contains members of
all ages, and of different ethnicities. It developed itself over the years into an active
clan in the Halo (video) community<ref>Halo videos:
http://youtube.com/results?search_query=crkd&search=Search</ref>,
with members all over the world.Mainly centered in the United States, CRKD includes
members from Canada, Great Britain, and New Zealand.
Although
there are many Halo PC gaming clans in the world, CRKD strives to
be the first of many to enter new online
territory.The notion of
entering itself onto Wikipedia is a first of many, with the main
goal of educating others about this gaming clan. This Wikipedia document is not meant to be seen as
a substitute for webhosting, but rather as a living document
detailing the history of a modern day gaming
clan.
2003
On Nov.14th, 2003, CRacKeD Clan was
founded by Rock.Initially, the
applicant pool into CRKD clan was very small, but as more people
found CRKD through the online Halo servers, CRKD started to
grow.
The main driving force
behind CRKD during the early startup of the clan was lead as what
was known as the power triangle. It consisted of three members: Rock, Buu, and
Denton.
These three individuals played a unique role into
shaping what CRKD has become today.Rock was the leader of the clan, and he implemented
behind the scenes work for the clan, such as the forums and
website.
Denton was the
enforcer.He kept recruits in
line and made sure the forum was tidy.Denton was never afraid to say his ideas, and was
always blunt.
Buu was a person of
inspiration.When times got
rough, Buu would always make sure that people were
happy.In short, he looked out
for everyone.He could say
anything and make anyone laugh.
2004
EvO
The
highlight of year 2004 was CRKD and its incident with EvO (Evil
Owls) clan.EvO was a new clan
to Halo PC, started by some individuals in
Sweden.However, their ingenuity
was very poor.EvO created a
website similar to CRKD, and imitated CRKD in every single way,
such as imitating CRKD's forum and shoutbox.
One day the
registration on EVO's.tk site expired (www.evilowls.tk) so
[CRKD]Kishan registered it, and put the message OWNED BY CRKD on
their website. EVO's leader
came onto CRKD forums begging Kishan to give his site url back (he
thought he had been hacked), and Kishan gave it back when he
promised he'd never bug CRKD any more.A few weeks later, EvO couldn't run themselves and
it died a few weeks
later.
2005
2006
Chic/Pepsi Era
During
2005-2006, CRKD Clan recruited a member by the name of Chic
(Chicha).Chic was a heavily
active member and was also credited with a big increase in
recruiting.She was also reputed
as being very talented, working regularly with photoshop and
Halo.However, there was also
some concern amongst members over certain issues surrounding here,
such as her constant activity, and also her relationship with some
members in the clan.<br /> One of these members was an
admin, MrBuu.There relationship
continued outside of the online community for a short period,
however, it was ended when Buu discovered that Chic was not a 17
year old girl, but actually a 28 year old man with two kids, who
was acting as if he was a girl. This discovery was causing a lot of turmoil in the
clan.Members left because of
the revelation of Chic, and the clan was in a fragile
state.Things recovered and the
clan went on.<br /> The person known as Chic changed his
name into Pepsi.Even though
some members left the clan, CRKD was still
active.Pepsi provided the clan
with servers, and significantly changed the looks of the
site.Most members still did not
trust him, which resulted in the resignation of
Pepsi.<br /> This
development started the return of ex-clan members.
Early
2006
During the months of January, February, and March, the
CRKD life was pretty good, as one might say.Chic was around, however, and MrBuu had
disappeared.Chic was a great
person around.She (term used
loosely) really was active in the clan.Making sigs, stunt videos, forum modifications made
her a graphics guru for the clan.At this point in time, questions were asked about
how a girl has so much free time working on modding
Halo.Many new members were
recruited here, like Advent Chimp.
Spring Time
During the
spring time, there were many issues to be solved by
CRKD.There were rumors of
member Black Cat falling in love with Chic. Many parts of this story are still being
uncovered.<br
/>
People continued to say that Cat was around only because
he liked Chic, but Chic didn't feel the same for
Cat.Cat argued that this rumor
was not true.Cat used to be
part of the RPC (Red Phoenix Clan), but he was "converted" to CRKD,
as were so many former RPC members such as Target and Filter.<br
