CUrio is a
student newspaper
based at the
University of Canberra in the city of
Canberra,
Australia. The paper
was founded in 1989 at the then Canberra College of Advanced
Education under the name
Ccaesarian - the first four
letters of the name being the initials of the institution. When the
college became the University of Canberra the following year,
Ccaesarian was renamed
CUrio (i.e. Canberra
University). Published fortnightly during university semester in
the 1990s,
CUrio is a bimonthly today.<ref>

CUrio is today published by the
University
of Canberra Students’ Association. Its editor is elected
annually.
The magazine's content has often aroused controversy.
A 1997 article entitled "Chicks you wanna punch in the face" was
attacked by the left as sexist and unacceptable for a student
newspaper.<ref> </ref>
