Anthony Caleb Followill (born January 14, 1982), known as Caleb Followill, is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the Grammy Award-winning American alternative rock band Kings of Leon. He is the brother of fellow band members Jared (bass) and Nathan (drums) and the cousin of lead guitarist Matthew. He is known for his distinctive baritone singing voice.
Followill was born to Betty Ann and Ivan Leon Followill, a Pentecostal evangelist minister, who traveled around the American South.[1]
Followill recently smashed his beloved 1972 Gibson ES-325 after sound problems at T in the Park in July 2009. [2] Followill sent his guitar to Gibson's Repair & Restoration department, who repaired the guitar and returned it to him. [3]
Has been romantically linked to model Lily Aldridge.
Followill draws song writing inspiration from Townes Van Zandt, Dave Alvin, Roger Miller, Pearl Jam and Radiohead, to whom he listens regularly.[4][5]
