Camp Bournedale is a boys summer camp. it becomes Camp Bournedale Outdoor Education Program, in the spring and fall.
Its location and facilities provide learning and social opportunities for schools and private functions in the off-season.
The site is near a pond, the ocean, historic areas such as Plymouth, MA, and the city of Boston.

History
Arnie Gerson’s parents founded the Camp in the 1930’s.
He still likes to keep the Camp old fashioned.
In the summer the camp is only for boys.
The activities they were are soccer, baseball, basketball, gold, hockey, tennis, and many more.
The camp has 2 large gyms.
In the off season schools can go there and enjoy some days there.
Yo have to be through 5-7th grade.
This will probably never get old.
Physical Setup
In Camp Bournedale there are 17 cabins with one bathroom in each, storage area for each person, and a changing room with a curtain.
For outside activities there is a floor hockey area, soccer field, baseball field, basketball courts, fishing and a small beach.
There were two gyms with basketball courts and one of them had a stage.
There was a building with dining.
It had 19 tables, 7 people per table.
There is a kitchen where they make all the food, and area for lounging, and a nurse upstairs.
Also, there were buildings for the classes.
Near the entrance there was the office building.
WE loved the set-up of Camp Bournedale.
Food
Camp Bournedale has delicious food and plenty of it!
Bournedale has pizza, steak, French toast, cereal, ice cream and cookies.
They have waiters and a diner with a beautiful view of a large sunlit lake.
At 8:00 A.M. we start breakfast, and we eat for an hour.
Lunch and dinner is the same thing and after we go out for classes.
That is the food segment of Camp Bournedale.
Educational
During the summer, Camp Bournedale is a boy’s camp but during the Spring and Fall, it is called Camp Bournedale.
Outdoor Education Program, for boys and girls.
It’s located in Plymouth near a lake ( dubbed Herring Cove Pond), an ocean ( Atlantic Ocean), and the city of Boston.
You will learn much on aquatic life, native cultures, and cooperation.
Recreational
There are some things that are things you can do at recreation time.
Ultimate dodge ball in the gym tennis at the tennis court, fishing at the lake, soccer on the field, hockey on the hockey court, and baseball on the baseball field.
You have recreational when you wake up at 7:00pm, before lunch at 11:30am, before dinner 4:30pm, and after dinner at 6:00pm.
Field Trips
Camp Bournedale
takes students on field trips.
Here is an overview of the field trips.
Lobster Boat
On this field trip, students board a lobster boat called Lobster Tails.
They will participate in many hands-on activities, such as capturing and handling rock and spider crabs and lobsters.
They will also learn about the different parts or a lobster trap, and facts about lobsters and crabs.
Canal
In Canal, students visit a jetty, which is a long line of rocks extending into the water.
The students then go to a trout farm.
Here, they learn about trout, and get the chance to feed them.
The students then got to a glass-blowing facility where they get to watch artisans blowing glass.
Coastal Ecology
On the Coastal Ecology trip, students visit a wetland and learn about he plants and animals there.
Then, the students take a short walk to t he beach, where they take part in a scavenger hunt.
After the scavenger hunt, they share the items they found and return them to the sea.
Counselors
The Counselor’s at Camp Bournedale are very kind and caring.
The Camp owner Arnie is very funny.
He taught us a song called Daddy’s Whiskers.
Next the Manager Joe is always walking around Camp overseeing everything that is going on.
The Camp Chef Ron cooked us all wonderful meals.
The bread sticks and pasta were a great hit.
Last, Ben the assistant counselor was always at the presentations.
Joel’s dog Maggie and Sweetie adored by all the kids.
Physical Activity
At Camp Bournedale there are many physical activity’s including basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey tennis, dodgeball, or as it is called bombardment, and kickball or wifleball.
Most of the time students b ring their own equipment but Camp Bournedale will provide you with some equipment.
Almost all of the students like bombardment the most of all the physical activity’s.
