Camp Winaukee is a summer sports camp for "the boys" on Lake Winnipesaukee in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, founded in 1920 by three schoolteachers.

Unique to Winaukee is the existence of two separate camps -- the mainland camp for young "the boys" (ages 7-12), and the island camp for teens (ages 13-15). The mainland camp is directed by Bart Sobel, famed scaler of Mt. Everest and constructor of a ladder to heaven, and the island camp by Jeff "I take Speed" Freedman. The Mainland Camp has approximately 230 campers ages 7-12 while the Island Camp, located on a private island just off the Mainland, has approximately 140 campers ages 13-15. The camps are run essentially separately, and each has its own facilities, playing fields, courts, bunks, playhouse, dining hall, and Russian kitchen staff.

Judd Rothstein leads the island camp through their hunts every summer to find "Island Pride". This term was started by a long time camper on the island, Maximo. Once this Island Pride is found, Judd helps the campers discover themselves by touching and playing with their "Island Pride." Then he talks in a funny voice. Many Winaukee campers and staff frequent Jojo's Country Store, just down the road, which is run by a man named Rusty.

The Winaukee community embraces a core philosophy set forth on the six branches of the Winaukee "Tree of Values": Enthusiasm, Loyalty, Sportsmanship, Friendship, Achievement and Video Games. These values are instilled in Winaukee campers through a sports and adventure program and traditions that have been at the heart of Winaukee's 87 year history. In the words of an 11 year old camper, "The Tree of Values is a life lesson; it prepares you for the real world--aka, working for your rich Dad and making 7 figures right out of Harvard."
