Canlyte is a company that manufactures and sells a wide array of lighting fixtures. Canlyte has operated independently since it was formed in 1985 with its own management team and, in 1995, its own Board of Directors. Headquartered in Lachine, Quebec, Canlyte operates three manufacturing facilities in Canada, has sales offices from coast to coast and employs over 500 Canadians. Canlyte markets its products under the Canadian brand names of CFI Fluorescent, Keene, Lightolier, Stonco, Uniglo and Wide-Lite. In 2007, Philips Royal Electronics announced that it would acquire the Genlyte Group which would make Canlyte a part of Philips.


Facilities




Lachine, Quebec is the corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility for Lightolier products covers 144 000 square feet. Established in 1965, it is the oldest Canlyte facility.

Cornwall, Ontario is the location of this 156 000 square foot plant and the modern manufacturing facility for the CFI Fluorescent product line. Originally conceived as Canadian Fluorescent Industries, this facility opened in 1987.

Cambridge, Ontario the Keene-Widelite manufacturing facility built in 1968 doubled in size to 85 000 square feet in 1985 after Canlyte acquired Wide-Lite.

Lighting Concept Centre, located in the design district of Toronto is an 8000 square foot lighting demonstration and education centre. It is the only facility of its kind in Canada. Opened in 1987, the Centre’s focus is toward our lighting specifier customers.
