Carl J. Hudecek (born December 3, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio) is an internationally known expert on sealing glasses,[1] metal expansion and contraction, and metal oxidation processes for glass sealing.

He is also an expert at the game of contract bridge.

He spent most of his working career at Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Toledo, Ohio, where he was chief physicist and laboratory manager.

He is holder or co-holder of many USA and foreign patents in sealing glasses, television picture tube materials and processing, and sealing alloys.

He was one of the USA pioneers in designing and installing turnkey manufacturing operations for sealing glasses in Russia and Germany.

He won the National ACBL Life Master Open Pairs bridge championship in 1966, partnered by Ray Zoller.[2] He has been a member of the panel of experts for The Bridge World Magazine for over 45 years and has written many bridge articles and commentaries.

He consults in the area of sealing glasses through his consulting company, Bridgecon Services in Perrysburg, Ohio. He has taught courses on sealing and joining at Rutgers University and Missouri School of Mines.
