Carl Smargiassi is a rising actor from Western Australia who
starred in the critically aclaimed local hit Killing in the Name of
in which he played Murder Victim #2.
His performance in the
movie got him nominated for best supporting actor at the Sacred
Heart College<ref>www.shc.com.au</ref> Movie night
however the award was taken out by his co-star Peter Fogiliani who
played the vicious murderer.
Carl is currently studying
Commerce at the University Of Western Australia (UWA). It was
during his first year of study at the university where Carl became
affiliated with the infamous EBS Quartet, a group of students –
including Paul Cavanaugh, Luke Copley and Keegan Pinto. The Quartet
is rumoured to be the masterminds behind the string of recent
violent attacks at the University that attempted to undermine the
monopoly held by the notorious UWA student guild. On his latest
appearance on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman Carl was
questioned about the attacks and answered, “I do not condemn the
violence but would like nothing more than to see the prejudice
toward non-guild members at UWA become a thing of the past”.
Carl is rumoured to be currently working on the sequel Killing
in the Name of 2 in which he will play a hitman; these rumours have
not yet been confirmed by the producer/director Michael Sala who is
a close friend of Carls.
