Carlos Rance Redman (b. August 28, 1982)[1] is an American jazz musician from Detroit, Michigan[2] who graduated from Alabama State University's Tullibody School of Music in 2004. He currently leads a modern jazz ensemble.

Redman released his self-produced debut album, Love Letters, on December 19, 2007, on Brown Eyes Records. This album was nominated for the Detroit Music Awards as "Outstanding Jazz Recording" of 2009.[3]
His second album, Remix (released August 28, 2008), was inspired by the revitalization of Detroit's inner city.
He has cited Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Donald Byrd and Miles Davis as his influences.[4]
In 2005, Redman self-published a book entitled Young Hearts Run Free on Lulu[5] under the name "C. Rance Redman."
