Author of activity, art and fiction books published by Harper Collins, Scholastic and Simon & Schuster. Best selling titles include the 'Advanced Paper Aircraft' series (Perigee US imprint 'Best Paper Aircraft'), 'Fold Your Own Dinosaurs' and '3D Magic Poster Book'.

Carmel Morris is a graphics and software developer. She was one of the first of the modern Stereogram developers to compete against Magic Eye in the 1990s and has sold in excess of 100,000 copies of her titles. She has also released a commercial album, 'Another Number' -an homage to the classic cult 60s television series The Prisoner, plus other tracks that have appeared on compilation albums, all distributed in the UK and United States.

Background

She studied graphics, computing and Origami, having released several paper folding books by Collins, her first book published at the age of 18. While lead-vocalist in a heavy-metal band at the age of 18, she decided to quit music for a spare-time career in writing, returning to music to apply her skills at composing for other genres which she has loved over the years; prog-rock, classical rock and electronica. She has travelled the world extensively on promotional tours (press, print, television), performed in the UK and shot the occasional music video to complement her releases. She actively encourages reading and promotes writing for teenagers, teaching at writers fellowships on occasion. Her advice for aspiring Harry Potter writers has helped many achieve the goal of completing their first novel.
