Carmen Perez (born October 25) is an American Dance/Pop recording artist, songwriter, painter and actress. She was born in Bronx, New York and moved to Puerto Rico at the age of 10. She joined the U.S. Army when she was just 17 years old, being stationed in Germany, South Korea & Washington, D.C. Shortly after being discharged, she entered the entertainment world.
Perez penned a deal with Dauman Music/Universal Music Group for her single “Emergency”. “Emergency” was #10 in the UK Commercial Pop Charts (MusicWeek August 2009) & in the TOP 50 Billboard Dance Club Chart (April-June 2009). “EMERGENCY” was also #5 on PerfectBeat.com on its 2nd week. “EMERGENCY” was co-written by Carmen, J & Sweet (co-writers of Jennifer Lopez's "Love Don't Cost A Thing"), Ellis Miah, and Kyle Puccia.
Perez has also been an actress, starring in films He’s Just Not That Into You, Illegal Tender, Not Forgotten, TV series Everybody Hates Chris, Nip/Tuck, General Hospital & upcoming films Locker 13 & The Rig. Carmen also earned a Best Supporting Actress award for her portrayal in Soldiers Don’t Cry (by the Valley Theatre League Artistic Director Achievement (ADA) Awards).
