Carnival Games (known in Europe and Australia as Carnival: Funfair Games) is a video game for Nintendo's Wii console and the Nintendo DS. It was published by Global Star Software, before GSS was absorbed into Take-Two Interactive (and what is now 2K Play).
On March 13, 2008, 2K Play announced that the game had shipped over one million units. As a result of the original's success, a follow-up for the Wii was announced, and launched in the fall of 2008, titled Carnival Games: Mini-Golf.[1] A proper sequel, Carnival Games 2, is currently planned for sometime in 2010.

The game consists of various mini-games with a carnival theme, such as Alley Bowling, Lucky Cups, Nerves of Steel, Hoops, and Day at the Races. These are set up through 5 different themed areas of the carnival. The player can even win virtual prizes depending on their score. There are also many easter eggs hidden as well.
Compilation review site Metacritic calculated an aggregate score of 56/100 (27 reviews) for the game.[2] GameSpot awarded the game a 4.5 out of 10,[3] Nintendo Power gave it a 7 out of 10, IGN gave it a 6.5 out of 10,[4] and Gametrailers gave it a 7.3 out of 10[5] and Official Nintendo Magazine gave it just 38%.
Despite poor reviews, the game was a commercial success, selling over 1.5 million copies worldwide. This figure puts it ahead of high-profile titles such as Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
On October 21, 2008, a follow-up entitled "Carnival Games: Mini-Golf" was released in the United States.[6] A proper sequel, "Carnival Games 2,"[7] is currently scheduled for sometime in 2010, according to the website for 2K Play, owners of Cat Daddy Games (the developer of all "Carnival" titles to date).
