Personal Life
Cheese started dating Roy Keane in
2006. Dating rumors started in August 2006 with a Sun newspaper
article, but kicked into high gear when Cheese and Keane spent New
Year's holiday together in Las Vegas, both attending Alan Hansen's
New Years Eve 2006 party. Reports indicated that the two were
publicly very affectionate. The two were spotted kissing and
hugging at a 2007 PFA awards after-party, and posed for photos.
Cheese also accompanied Keane for several Sunderland matches,
before Cheese went to stay in Manchester.
In November 2007,
according to the Daily Star, Cheese also began dating Manchester
United player Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool's talisman Steven
Gerrard without Keane's knowlege.
During a January FA Cup tie
between Luton and Liverpool, Cheese was victim of an assault by
Liverpool player Jamie Carragher. Carragher went to the crowd to
'sign autographs' but suddenly lashed out when Cheese tried to
shake his hand. Carragher claimed that Cheese had told him 'you'll
never win the league!' and that he had reacted in self-defense.
