Castledoor is an American independent band based in Silverlake, California, formed in September 2004.
Originally, they were only releasing music through their MySpace (http://myspace.com/castledoormusic) and PureVolume (http://www.purevolume.com/castledoor) profiles, however on July 25, 2006, they released their debut EP, Follow the Dove - EP on CDbaby. com. In October 2006, the EP was added to Appleās iTunes online music store. iTunes is currently the only way to purchase Follow the Dove because it has been sold out since late March 2007.[1]

Castledoor was formed by Nate Cole and Gabe Combs in 2004, both former members of Plus One. Nate originally played guitar and sang, while Gabe played the piano, synths, and guitar. They began to record demos in Gabe's bedroom and releasing them on PureVolume, and Myspace. Then came 2006, which was a big year for change. Nate married Liska Cole, and Gabe married Coury Combs. Both of their wives joined the band, with Liska playing piano, and Coury playing synths.[2] Their good friends Brandon Shwartzel and Joel Plotnik also joined, with Brandon on bass, and Joel on drums. They released their first EP Follow the Dove later that year.[3]
In early 2007, Castledoor went into a professional studio.[4]
In 2008, nearly two years after releasing their first EP, Castledoor released a 7-inch Vinyl entitled 'til We Sink. Included were three new tracks.[5]
In 2009, Castledoor finally released their first album, Shouting At Mountains.[6]
A new EP entitled, Flashlight, was announced on their twitter December 31, and is to be released in 2010. [7]
