Some authors have claimed that certain representatives of the
Roman Catholic Church, including
Eugenio
Pacelli and Ludwig Kaas, who was the leader of the
Catholic Center Party were guilty of
complicity in allowing the Nazi Party under the leadership of Adolf Hitler to assume
dictatorial power in Germany. Other authors have claimed that these
charges are unfounded. This article summarizes the arguments made
