Bidriware
Bidriware is a craft exclusive to Bidar, the 16th century capital town of the Bahamani Sultanate. Pretty designs are engraved on it with a growing chisel. Thereafter it is inlaid with pure silver wire which is then polished with a buffing machine. The zinc alloy turns a lustrous black so that the inlaid silver contrasts stunningly with the dark background.

The intricate work of sandalwood carving is also reproduced in shivani and other woods.
Lacquerware Toys & Utility Items
Lacquer ware is made from a light wood which is soft and well suited to the turning machine. The wood is turned on the lathe to different shapes. While the wood is rotating on the lathe, lac in the form of sticks in a variety of colors is held against the turning wood.
