Necessities, a ladies' lingerie web site, 80 percent of women
wear the wrong bra size [1910].
However,
if they know how to take two measurements--the band measurement
(numeric size, such as 36) and the cup measurement (the
alphabetical size, such as C)--they can fit any bra perfectly to
the size of their breasts.
How to measure bra size
To
measure the band size, a woman uses a tape measure to
measure under her arms, high on her back, and around the top of
her chest.If the resulting
measurement is an even number, she has determined her band size;
otherwise, she must add 1 to the result to obtain her band
size.
To determine her cup size, a woman must perform two
steps.First, wearing a
comfortable and supportive bra, she measures around the fullest
part of her bust to obtain her cup measurement.Next, she subtracts the band measurement from the
cup measurement.Each difference
of one inch equals a cup size:
1-inch difference = A cup
2-inch difference = B cup
3-inch difference = C cup
4-inch
difference = D cup
5-inch difference = DD cup
6-inch
difference = DDD cup
7-inch difference = DDDD cup
8-inch
difference = FF cup
9-inch difference = G cup
10-inch
difference = H cup
11-inch difference = I cup
12-inch
difference = J cup
For example, if her band measurement is 34
inches and her cup measurement is 36 inches, her cup size is a B,
and she wears a size 36B bra [1911].

Celebrity Sleuth magazine lists
the bra sizes for many celebrities.The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and
Yahoo!Answers both regard the
magazine's data to be accurate and uses the information itself in
responding to the public's questions about various celebrities bra
sizes.For example, regarding
Jessica Parker's bra size, IMDb states that ""Her spectacular
figure features a natural 36DD bust that blossomed in junior high
school" [1912],
