Although the
entertainment field is frequently characterized and caricatured as
being "liberal" and therefore supportive of the Democratic Party,
the truth is that the Republicans have long been able to count many
notable actors, musicians, athletes and other celebrities among
their supporters.Indeed, a
number of celebrities have run for political office as Republicans,
including the presidency.

Danny Aiello-Although a lifelong Democrat,
Aiello claims to have jumped to the GOP because of his severe dislike for President
Bill
Clinton.
Harding in 1920, performing a song at GOP
rallies around the country that went, in part, "We need another
Lincoln/To do the country's thinkin'/Mr. Harding you're the man for
us!"
Grace Slick-In 1970, Slick had been invited to a
reception at the White House, and she planned to slip LSD into
