Official site Central Baptist
Church was constituted on November 27, 1955, with 299 members. The
church broke ground on its first facilities on Watson Boulevard in
1956 and has continued to grow and expand with Warner Robins. Our
present pastor - Dr. Owen Bozeman - began his tenure in June of
1995.
Down through the years, Central Baptist Church has been
marked by its firm commitment to the Bible as the Word of God, and
by always keeping in view the basic purposes of the church:
worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. The
church has always been generous in its giving, supporting not only
the ministries of this local church, but missions work throughout
the world.
Some of the unique features of this congregation
include our International Ministries, which for over thirty years
has helped people from different people groups learn English and
work toward their United States citizenship, as well as providing
worship services in their native tongue. Since 1960, Central
Baptist Church has sponsored Sonshine Preschool, which has offered
preschool care and education for both children and families.
Central has also offered a live Sunday morning radio broadcast
since 1984 and a weekly television broadcast since 1989. Our church
has also been very active in worldwide missions, annually sending
teams to various countries and people groups around the
globe.
Faced with a landlocked location and aging facilities,
Central Baptist Church voted in 1997 to relocate to a new site. In
1998, the church purchased a large 155 acre tract of land at Lake
Joy Road and the new Russell Parkway extension. After several years
of prayer and planning, a large new church facility was
constructed. The first services were held there on February 13,
2005.
On November 27, 2005, Central Baptist Church celebrated
its 50th anniversary. But the best is yet to come! Our church is
really growing and we invite you to come and grow with us! We have
ministries for every age and stage of life that are designed to
help people discover God’s purpose for their lives both here and
hereafter. Won’t you come and join us on the
journey?
